Illinois Orchid Society Spring Show and Sale

March 8 - 9, 2025
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe, IL 60022

See hundreds of rare and unique orchids from the private collections of the top growers in four states compete in 130 competition classes in the longest-running amateur orchid exhibition in the Chicago area.

For 73 years, the Illinois Orchid Society has brought the allure and mystery of the orchid world out from the glasshouse and into plain view for the public.

Our Spring show is held for one weekend in conjunction with the Chicago Botanic Garden’s own ticketed show. The society exhibit is outside the ticketed area, but guests are encouraged to get a ticket for the Garden’s show and enjoy both.

The Illinois Orchid Society Show is free, and does not require a ticket beyond your Chicago Botanic Garden admission and parking.

Shop for orchid plants and supplies from our network of commercial growers and collectors.

Reserve your timed entry to the Chicago Botanic Garden in advance.

**The Illinois Orchid Society Fall Show & Sale is one weekend only, so be sure to select March 8th or 9th.

Many esteemed orchid collectors eventually find themselves passionately devoted to just one type of orchid. For Francisco Miranda this is the Genus Cattleya and its allies, particularly those originating in Brazil.

We are very excited to host Francisco, who came to the States in 1999 and brought with him his passion for the orchids of his homeland, and regularly makes trips back to Brazil to source new Cattleyas. Francisco will be making one such trip right before our show, and personally driving the plants in.

You can order from the website or email Francisco at:
